Introduction
On National Something Fun Day, we are reminded to look past the heaviness of the news, the divisiveness of politics, and overwhelming circumstances we may find ourselves in by remembering that no matter the situation, you can help get through by finding something fun.
Why We Love National Something Fun Day
News can be daunting
It's a rare occasion that we open a newspaper or turn on the news and not be bombarded with negativity and sadness. If you can turn on the news, ignore the drama, you may be able to chuckle when you notice the anchor is wearing his tie on backwards.
Politics are inherently silly
Politics have been universally understood to be incredibly divisive. However, when you can take a step back and see politics and politicians for what they are, you can see that they are really nothing more than silly people asking to be laughed at.
Life can be overwhelming
All the chaos in the world mixing with all the intricacies of our own lives can leave one feeling a bit overwhelmed. Taking a moment out of your day to identify something fun can help sooth the soul.

Eat a little ice cream
Want to scream? Eat some ice cream! Hey, if this tactic is used by a President, it can be used by you.
Appreciate the people around you
While you’re having a little fun, appreciate those who laugh and share in the fun with you. The world is better when there are more people just trying to do something fun.
