I Love to Write Day was established by John Riddle in 2002 to encourage people of all ages to write something — a journal entry, a poem, a letter, or a story — as a practice of self-expression and communication. World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was established by the UN to raise awareness for road traffic crashes — which kill approximately 1.35 million people annually and are the leading cause of death for people aged 5 to 29.
