Background

Ariel Fulmer is a designer with a lot of talent and creativity. However, she is also well known for being one half of a famous internet couple and creating content with her husband and their friends. Fulmer was born Ariel VandeVoorde on November 15, 1985, in Jacksonville, Florida. Her zodiac sign is Scorpio. She is the daughter of Kathryn VandeVoorde, and she has a sister named Danielle. She attended The American School in London, studied Art History and Design at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, and graduated from Carleton College with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology. Fulmer then began working at The Conservation Center in 2009. She also worked as a private bookbinder.

In 2012, she decided to leave art conservation, apprenticeships, and chemistry courses in favor of design. That same year, she married Ned Fulmer, who would go on to become a part of a famous internet content creator group in Buzzfeed, “The Try Guys,” alongside Eugene Lee Yang, Zach Kornfield, and Keith Habersberger.

In 2013, she began working as a book and paper conservation assistant at the Newberry. That same year, she left her job at the Newberry in Chicago and moved to Los Angeles to work at One Kings Lane as an assistant category manager, and was promoted to associate category manager after two years. She also worked as a photo stylist for Joy Cho, founder of Oh Joy! And as a vintage buyer for Emily Henderson. In 2015, she founded her own company, Fig + Stone Designs, an online seller of vintage and handmade interior decor, which she still runs to this day. Outside of her professional life, Fulmer is part of “The Try Wives,” a group comprised of the Try Guys’ four partners, alongside Becky Habersberger, Maggie Bustamante, and Matt McLean. The Try Wives occasionally appear on their partners’ channel, like in the “Try Wives Try Wine” series.

In 2018, the Fulmer couple welcomed their first child, Wesley James Fulmer. That same year, “The Try Guys” left “Buzzfeed” to form an original YouTube channel of the same name, and Fulmer and her husband started their own series in it, titled “Ned & Ariel.” 2020 was a very busy year for her. Along with the other Try Wives, she launched the podcast “You Can Sit With Us” in July of that year. In September, the Fulmers launched their own podcast titled “Baby Steps,” which is about their experience raising their son Wes and caring for him when he was a baby, as well as Ariel’s experience being pregnant. Speaking of which, the couple also welcomed their second child, a boy named Finn, in November of that same year. In September 2021, the couple released a cookbook, titled “The Date Night Cookbook.”
