He is an American actor widely recognized for his role as Special Agent Timothy McGee on the American T.V. drama series “N.C.I.S.” He spent most of his early childhood moving from one military base to another. His father was a navy captain, which meant that the family had to travel a lot. He has lived in the U.S., Australia, Singapore, and London. Murray has one brother and seven step-siblings.

Initially, the character of Tim was meant to be a one-time appearance on the show. The editors, however, had other plans when they decided to bring him back full-time in an alternative episode. He has become a mainstay ever since.
Murray values his time off with his family and this has shaped the way he has taken on projects. He prefers to do projects that enable him to focus on his family more. He is married to Carrie James, a teacher. They have two children, Caitlyn and River.
