Introduction
Mad Hatter Friday is the Friday before St Patrick's Day and is the reason the Irish Leprechauns are in America. It's a widely known legend among the Irish and the Mad Hatter followers (Hatters) that on the Friday before St. Patrick's Day, the one and only Mad Hatter, sporting his green colored hat that is slightly oversized, ventured over to Ireland to invite the Leprechauns back to America to create all kinds of mischief during the day of beer drinking/whiskey drinking that is St Patrick's Day.
Why We Love Mad Hatter Friday
Mad Hatter Friday is the reason for rainbows in March
Mad Hatter told the Leprechauns he was the King of the Leprechauns and they must follow orders. Handing a Leprechaun a shot of whiskey he put them on a rainbow to America. That's why you will see rainbows in March. The Leprechauns are transporting.
Extends the celebration of St. Patrick's Day
With this holiday being on the Friday before St. Patrick's Day, we gain one to six extra days to make Leprechaun mischief.
Ponder the Mad Hatter's favorite riddle
The Mad Hatter's favorite riddle to get the Leprechauns onto the rainbows was "Why is a Leprechaun like a rainbow?" The answer he would give is "The higher, the fewer, of course?" Then he would hand the Leprechaun a shot of whiskey.
