History of Revenge of the 5th
The very first “Star Wars” film came out in 1977. In 1999, it was renamed “Episode IV: A New Hope” since the prequel trilogy was released in the same year. The film tells the story of Luke Skywalker, cast by Mark Hamill, and Captain Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford, as they go together on an adventure to save Princess Leia, real name Carrie Fisher, from evil Imperial forces that have her captured. The film was successful from the get-go, expanding itself into a multimedia universe.
Soon after the release of the first films, two more followed, and the first trilogy was born. In 1999, the first film of the second trilogy premiered. This movie now tells the story of Anakin Skywalker, a young boy who finds himself in the middle of a war for power involving the Sith and the Jedi. The next two movies followed the development of both the war and the character, who became one of the most iconic villains in cinematic history. More recently, in 2015, the first film of the third trilogy was released, and now the story follows Han Solo and the new characters Rey and Finn as they attempt to defeat Kylo Ren.
The three trilogies are what compose the so-called Skywalker Saga. Besides this saga, there are many other anthology films, such as “Rogue One” and “Solo,” and T.V. shows such as “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett” that keep this legendary sci-fi universe alive!
