National Inspiring Joy Day – April 3, 2024

National Inspiring Joy Day is on April 3 every year. The idea came from the “Woman’s World” and “First for Women” magazines, whose objectives were always to spread joy and motivate their audience to live their best lives. On National Inspiring Joy Day, features that offer many ways to help their readers find what makes them happy and share this inspiration with their family, friends, or community, especially feel-good stories and small acts of kindness, are included. Well inspired by them, National Today would like to share ideas to find joy.

History of National Inspiring Joy Day

‘Heinrich Bauer Verlag’ is a European magazine publisher from Hamburg, Germany, who trades as the Bauer Media Group. In 1981, the company set up an American subsidiary, Heinrich Bauer North America, in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. Their first American release that year was the magazine “Woman’s World,” which targeted an audience of middle-class mothers. Printed on paper generally associated with tabloid publications and priced accordingly, the weekly magazine concentrates on short articles about subjects such as weight loss, relationship advice, and cooking, along with news stories about women in the STEM fields and academia.

“Woman’s World” quickly gained popularity, and by 1991, it already had a circulation of 1.5 million readers, generating $15 million in annual revenue.

According to a profile at magsdirect.com, as of 2003, the content in the magazine was in the following categories: Features, 32%; Food and Nutrition, 22%; Health, 16%; Home and Gardening, 9%; Beauty and Grooming, 8%; Travel, 5%; Fashion, 4%; and Parenting, 4%. In 2004, it became the most popular newsstand women’s magazine in the U.S., selling 77 million copies.

“First for Women,” another women’s magazine by the Bauer Media Group, was first published in 1989. It presents positive information on everything from beauty and fitness to health and nutrition and home and family. It’s published every three weeks, and every issue includes a 24-page pull-out-and-save cookbook packed with original recipes for fast, easy, and healthy meals. In 2011, the circulation of the magazine was 1,310,696 copies. Together, both magazines created National Inspiring Joy Day in 2019.

Why We Love National Inspiring Joy Day

  1. Everything would be better if everyone could find their joy

If everyone felt happy and spiritually connected to the people they love, the world would be a better place to live. At least for just one day, everything will be fine.

  2. It’s a day to take a well-deserved break

When was the last time you took a break? You don’t necessarily have to go on vacation; just slow down and take some time off and tea to relax.

  3. It’s a day to resume reading that book you abandoned

Every year we promise to read more but almost immediately leave things halfway through. This day is a good opportunity to give it another go and try to make it more of a habit like it used to be.
