Background

Heather B. Gardner was born on November 13, 1970. She is professionally known as Heather B, a rap music artist, actress, and reality television personality. She first became famous as a member of the hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions. She joined the cast of “The Real World: New York” in 1992. Heather B starred in the first-ever season of the now-famous M.T.V. reality television show “The Real World.” Heather B filmed “The Real World: New York” from February 16 until May 18, 1992, and the series premiered on May 21 of that same year. Heather B was depicted as a hip-hop artist and member of the hip-hop group Boogie Down Productions on the show. It was suggested that she was on the verge of a big career break and she even recorded her first album during this first season of the show.

In 1995, Heather B was signed to Pendulum Records and in 1996, she released her first album titled “Takin’ Mine.” The single with the most plays and recognition was an anti-gun violence anthem titled ‘All Glocks Down.’ Her single ‘If Headz Only Knew’ also received significant radio plays at the time. In 1997, she signed with MCA Records and released the single ‘Do You’ and she later went on to release her second studio album in 2002 titled “Eternal Affairs.” This album featured production from Pete Rock and DJ Premier and it was met with overwhelmingly positive reviews despite not charting on Billboard.

She has been the host of the radio show “Sway in the Morning” since 2012 and she also appeared in “Marvel’s Luke Cage” in 2016. She then appeared in “Death Wish” in 2018 as herself.
