Lando Norris is a well-known name around the racing tracks. This avid Formula One driver was born on November 13, 1999, to retired English pensions manager Adam Norris and his Belgian wife, Cisca. He is the second of four children.
Beginning his career at the young age of seven, he claimed pole position at his first national event. In 2013, he went on to compete in KF-Junior karting, winning the CIK FIA European Championship, the International Super Cup, and the WSK Euro Series. The following year, he served as the youngest karting world champion after racing in the CIK-FIA KF World Championship with Ricky Flynn Motorsport. His first racing car debut came in 2014 at the Ginetta Junior Championship, where he finished third, won four races, and claimed the Rookie Cup. In the three subsequent years that followed, Norris claimed over 30 race wins, over 20 pole positions, and five championship titles, including the 2017 European Formula 3 Championship, the New Zealand Grand Prix, the Eurocup, and the Northern European Cup. It is no surprise that he caught the interest of world-renowned McLaren Racing Limited. He was contracted to race for the company for the first time as a junior driver in 2017. Later in the year, he became the official test and reserve driver for the 2018 season, where he performed for the first time at the Belgian Grand Prix, with a record of 26 laps. In 2019, he made his Formula One debut for McLaren, partnering with Carlos Sainz Jr. at the Formula One World Championship, where he came in 12th place. He bounced back at the following event, the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he finished sixth.
In the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix, Norris set the record for the fastest lap of the race and is the third-youngest podium-finisher in Formula One history. Norris boasts many titles and awards under his belt, some of which include the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 (2016), Toyota Racing Series (2016), the FIA F3 European Championship (2017), the Autosport National Driver of the Year (2017), and the Autosport British Competition Driver of the Year (2019 to 2021). In 2022, he extended his contract with McLaren for another three years and managed to come sixth in the Monaco Grand Prix and secure the fastest lap, despite suffering from tonsillitis.
Norris joins the competition of KF-Junior Karting and becomes the winner of the CIK FIA European Championship, the International Super Cup, and the WSK Euro Series.
