Aryan Khan

Background

Aryan Khan was born in New Delhi, India, on November 13, 1997, to one of Bollywood’s prominent celebrity couples. His father is the famous actor and ‘King of Bollywood,’ Shah Rukh Khan, while his mother is the renowned film producer and fashion designer, Gauri Chibber Khan. He is the eldest child among three siblings, with a younger sister, Suhana Khan, and a younger brother, AbRam Khan. His younger siblings were born in 2000 and 2013, respectively. He studied at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai before leaving for England to attend Sevenoaks School until 2016. Afterward, Khan continued his study at the School of Cinematic Arts, at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, U.S. He graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Cinematic Arts, and Television Production.

Khan made his film debut in Karan Johar’s 2001 family drama, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” as young Rahul Raichand, a character played by his father. It was one of the most expensive Indian films ever made with a $6.36‚ to $8.48 million budget. The movie, also known as “K3G,” was a domestic and international success, grossing $29 million worldwide. It held the record as the highest-grossing Bollywood film until 2006. In 2004, Khan and his father voiced the Hindi dub of Disney-Pixar’s “The Incredibles” as Dash and Mr. Incredible. The animation film was known as “Hum Hain Lajawab” in India.

Khan made a cameo appearance in Johar’s 2006 musical-romantic film, “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna,” which also starred his father alongside famous talent in Bollywood. The movie was a commercial success making $37 million. It became the highest-grossing Indian film overseas to this day and broke the previous record held by Johar’s 2001 movie, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham,” in which the Khan father-son duo also starred in. In 2019, Khan and his father once again collaborated to voice the Hindi-dubbed version of Disney’s “The Lion King” remake as Simba and Mufasa.
