Virat Kohli is one of India’s finest athletic exports. He was born on November 5, 1988, in Delhi, India. Kohli is of Indian descent and was born into a Punjabi Hindu family. His father worked as a criminal lawyer while his mother was a homemaker. Together with his two siblings, he was raised in Uttam Nagar. He attended Vishal Bharti Public School and went to the West Delhi Cricket Academy in 1998.

Kohli began his professional career with the Delhi Under-15 team in 2002. He became the team captain for the 2003/2004 Polly Umrigar Trophy and was selected in 2004 to join the Delhi Under-17 team for the Vijay Merchant Trophy. He first played in November 2006 against the Tamil Nadu cricket team. In the same year, Kohli was selected for the Delhi Under-19 team and toured England with them. He made his Twenty20 debut in April 2007, finishing as the highest run-getter at the Inter-State T20 Championship. Kohli has had successes in his international career and the Indian Premier League. He broke records at the 2021 I.P.L. game against Rajasthan Royals, emerging as the first player to reach 6,000 I.P.L. runs.
