Odell Beckham Jr.

Background

Odell Beckham Jr. is an exceptional athlete whose talents have set him apart in the National Football League. Beckham Jr. was born on November 5, 1992. His birthplace is Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and he attended Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. Beckham played basketball and football in high school. He also ran track. He’s of African-American descent and a Scorpio by design. In his high school career as a football player, Beckham was rated as a four-star recruit and a number six wide receiver. He received multiple college scholarships from Tulane to Nebraska but chose Louisiana State University.

As a college freshman, Beckham started in nine of 14 games for the L.S.U. Tigers. By September 2011, he scored the first touchdown of his collegiate career. As a sophomore, Beckham started in 12 out of 13 games, and as a junior, he won the Paul Hornung Award in 2013. By 2014, he was drafted by the New York Giants. He signed a $10 million, four-year contract with the team and debuted in October. In his first year with the New York Giants, he broke several N.F.L. rookie receiving records. He gained nationwide attention in a game against the Dallas Cowboys where he made a one-handed touchdown that was tagged ‘catch of the year.’ In the 2016 season, Beckham reached a tally of 200 receptions in 30 games, making him the fastest player to do so. His contract was extended for five more years in 2018. In 2019, Beckham became the first player since David Pattern in 2001 to record a passing 50 yards touchdown.

In 2019, he was acquired by the Cleveland Browns and then signed a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams in November 2021. With the Los Angeles Rams, he had his first career playoff touchdown in January 2022. He also won the Super Bowl LVI for the Los Angeles Rams. Beckman is a star athlete who has several accolades under his belt. He is highly celebrated and revered in the N.F.L. He shares his milestones with his girlfriend, Lauren Wood, and their newborn, Zdyn, who was born in February 2022.
