Rodrick Wayne Moore Jr., known as Roddy Ricch, began his career in 2017 when he released his first mixtape, “Feed Tha Streets.” The mixtape had songs like ‘Chase tha Bag,’ ‘Hoodricch,’ and ‘Fucc It Up’ on it. In 2018, Nipsey Hussle, who was already a fan of Ricch, brought him out as his guest in Powerhouse Concert. That same year, he put out a song named ‘Die Young,’ which he wrote for his childhood friend who died. The song accumulated 80 million views on Youtube and 120 million streams on Spotify — it also reached the 98th spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2019, he released the song ‘The Box,’ which stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 11 weeks. That same year he released the album, “Please excuse Me for Being Antisocial,” which was the most-streamed album in 2020 globally. In 2020, he had a tie with The Weeknd for the most nominated artists, who were nominated eight times at the 2020 American Music Awards. In 2021, a shooting occurred during Ricch and 42 Dugg’s music video shoot, and three people were injured. In 2020, he won Album of the Year and Song of the Year from the Apple Music Awards. That same year, he won Best Rap Performance for ‘Racks in the Middle,’ alongside Nipsey Hussle and Hit-Boy, at the 63rd Grammy Awards.

Roddy Ricch was apprehended for domestic violence after he was said to have assaulted his girlfriend in Los Angeles. All the charges against him were dropped because there was insufficient evidence. He has a son with Allie Minati, a model and businesswoman.
