Background

An American actor and musician who goes by the stage name “Jeff” is better known as Goldblum born on October 22, 1952, in Los Angeles, in West Homestead, Pennsylvania, to Jewish parents and raised in the U.S. He grew up knowing his desire to pursue acting, but he kept this hidden from his family and friends until he was in his 20s or 30s. When he was 17, his family moved to New York City, and he had a chance to study with Sanford Meisner.

While attending Carnegie Mellon University over the summers, he had the opportunity to take up acting. Goldblum began his cinematic career with modest roles in 1970s films such as “Death Wish” (1974), “California Split” (1974), “Nashville” (1975), and “Annie Hall” (1977). Goldblum featured in the horror-comedy “Transylvania 6-5000” with Geena Davis. They began dating and decided to tie the knot in 1987. David Cronenberg’s version of the classic horror film “The Fly” reunited the pair. Goldblum’s performance as a scientist who endures a terrible physical and psychological metamorphosis was praised by critics and audiences. In “Earth Girls Are Easy,” Davis and Goldblum reunited for the second time in a vividly colored alien comedy in 1989. They divorced in 1990, but they’ve been close friends ever since. Goldblum starred with Will Smith as a world-saving computer genius in “Independence Day 1996” sci-fi/action movie. For his contribution to the film, he was nominated for an Academy Award for the live-action short film “Little Surprises” in 1990. Overall, the picture brought in over $800 million.

He began a new project with Disney streaming service “The World According to Jeff Goldblum” in late 2019. The actor travels throughout the country to learn about issues that have captivated him throughout his life, from the process of creating sneakers to the tattoo community, while showing his distinctive, unique sense of humor in the process.
