Background

Pakalu Papito is a Twitter turned Instagram meme comic who made the character Pakalu Papito, a fictional Indian clerk. He was born on October 22, 1968, in India. The creator of Pakalu Papito wrote that Papito works in an I.T. company in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but hails from India.

His fame rose due to his comic memes, and he has gathered over 1.4 million followers on Instagram and over 300,000 followers on Twitter. Many people claim he is a fake personality who has created an entertainment account on Twitter. Papito posts various memes and jokes but mostly dwells on relationships and self-pity. Twitter has suspended him many times, but he now has another account. His Instagram is currently suspended. He launched his Twitter account on July 12, 2013, and his first tweet was, “hello twitter, I am single.” His funny tweets enabled him to gain over 730,000 followers in two years. In September 2013, a Facebook profile titled Pakalu Papito was made and achieved over 475,000 likes. In 2018, Papito gained 2.13 million followers on Twitter, but his profile was suspended. His content was then transferred to Instagram, Pakalu Papito Camel, where he amassed over 1.2 million subscribers before facing suspension. On May 4, 2015, a Tumblr blog of Pakalu Papito was created and published all his content. In October 2015, Urban Dictionary featured the word Pakalu Papito with the definition of crashing a camel into a bridge and not caring about the consequences. Another definition for Pakalu Papito in the same dictionary was God Himself.

Amidst all the suspension from Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, Papito created an alternative Twitter account in 2015 with over 300,000 followers. He tweets daily in the same ironic and sarcastic pattern. The profile photo across his social platform is of an Indian man. It has remained unaltered for many years now. It is still a mystery if the person behind the account is real or fake.
