Erika Tham

Background

Erika Tham, originally Jacqueline Erika Tham, was born in Singapore to her mother who’s from London, Ontario, and her father, Cheng Tham. She’s Chinese-Malaysian from her paternal side and Dutch/Ukrainian-Canadian from her maternal side. Although she’s originally from Singapore, she’s had the privilege of living in different countries, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Canada, Taiwan, and China. In each country she visited, she attended the I.B. schools and took part in their school plays. She was privileged enough to have been exposed to different cultures, which plays a big part in her understanding of people from different cultures. Her passion for performance arts kept her driven and active in school plays.

She was elected to play a part in the Handover from China to England in the 2008 Olympic Closing Ceremonies. It was her outstanding performance at the P.L.A. Opera House in Beijing that got her selected by the London Olympic Committee. She attended Stagedoor Manor in New York to receive formal training in performance arts. She also attended summer camps while in New York. Tham made her acting debut in 2015 in Nickelodeon’s “Ho Ho Holiday Special,” and then took on the role of Quirky in “The Other Kingdom.” Her next major professional role was as Corki Chang in Nickelodeon’s “Make It Pop.” The series is based on three close friends who have to balance relationships and their studies while striving to be musicians. Tham has also participated in the role of Bonnie Rockwaller in Disney’s action and comedy film “Kim Possible.”
Tham is currently not seeing anyone and she has two white poodles called Pava and Lova.
