Arjun Gupta

Background

Arjun Gupta was born in Tampa, Florida, on November 28, 1986. He was raised by his father, Lalit, or Al; and mother, Anubha, or Annie. He attended Berkeley Preparatory School and received a B.F.A. from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Despite amassing substantial wealth through various sources of income, he is said to prefer a simple way of life.

In the 2009 film “Motherhood,” he starred opposite Uma Thurman for the first time. He is also a notable producer. In addition, he co-founded a Southern California theater company with other artists. Through the medium of original stories and retellings of classics that reflect the contemporary world, this theater aimed to provide a platform or chance for marginalized groups. He was also nominated for a ‘Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series’ in 2012. In addition, he co-hosted the podcast “American Desis” with comedian Akaash Singh. He also voiced Nikhil Sharma in the podcast, titled “Paradoxica,” which is now available on Apple Podcast and Spotify. The film “Bridge and Tunnel” earned him the ‘Best Supporting Actor Award’ at the 2014 Maverick Movie Awards. Gupta has also starred in several television programs, such as “The Magicians” and “Nurse Jackie.”

He also appeared in well-known films, including “Love, Lies, and Seeta” (2012), “Stand Up Guys” (2012), “The Diabolical” (2015), and “French Dirty” (2015). From 2009 to 2016, he appeared in several television series, such as “Redemption Falls” (2009), “Company Town” (2013), “Checked Out” (2013), “How to Get Away with Murder” (2014), and “The Walker” (2015).
