Kendall Schmidt

Background

Kendall Francis Schmidt was born on November 2, 1990, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas and he is of German descent. His parents are Kathy Schmidt and Kent Schmidt. He grew up with his brothers, Kenneth Schmidt and Kevin Schmidt who are also actors. His acting career began at age five when he appeared in a T.V. commercial for Chex. In the following years, he appeared in several television commercials and worked as a double stunt. He was Haley Joel Osment’s stunt double in Stephen Spielberg’s “A.I. Artificial Intelligence” in 2001. In that same year, he landed several roles on several television shows like “General Hospital,” “Titus,” “Raising Dad,” “Gilmore Girls,” and “C.S.I: Miami.”

Schmidt’s family relocated from Kansas to Burbank, California, when he was 10. In the following years, he fell in love with music and partnered with Dustin Belt to form Heffron Drive, his first band in 2008. The name of the band even has a funny story. Kendall and Dustin had met each other by accident. They later found out they lived on Heffron Drive, Burbank, California. Hence, they named their new band after their street.

In 2009, Schmidt put the Heffron Drive affair on hold and joined Big Time Rush, a band that shares its name with the musical comedy television series, “Big Time Rush” by Nickelodeon in which Schmidt had a lead role. He remained with the Big Time Rush band until 2014, even though Nickelodeon stopped the series in 2013. In his time with B.T.R., they released three albums together titled “B.T.R.” in 2010, “Elevate” in 2011, and “24/Seven” in 2013. He returned to the duo band, Heffron Drive, releasing his debut single, ‘Parallel’ from the album, “Happy Mistakes,” the following year through his record label, TOLBooth Records. Schmidt still has reunions with members of the Big Time Rush band, to the delight of their fans.
