Jim Morrison left a huge mark on the world of Rock when he died. In him, people saw things they could only imagine but would never dare to do. He was a bundle of talent and unbridled freedom. Morrison was born on December 8, 1943, in Melbourne, Florida, United States. His zodiac sign is Sagittarius, and his ethnicity is part Scottish and part Irish. His father, George Morrison, was in the U.S. Navy, which meant they had to move frequently. Early in his life, he was a voracious reader, and he loved poetry.
He graduated from U.C.L.A.’s film school in 1965 and lived in Venice Beach, California, for several months. While there, he formed The Doors, a music band, and he wrote many of the songs the band would later perform and record. In 1966, Morrison used his experience with film production to produce a promotional video for The Door’s single ‘Break On Through (To the Other Side)’ (1966). His band signed with Elektra Records, a record label, in 1967, and they released their first album, “The Doors” in the same year.
He also wrote poetry, and his first published works were “The Lords — Notes on Vision” and “The Lords — The New Creatures,” both published in 1969. Incidentally, those were his only poems published while he was alive. He also recorded some of his poems in a professional recording studio. His other poetry works like “Wilderness” (1988) and “The American Night” (1990) were published after he died. Morrison recorded six albums with The Doors, and he relocated to Paris, France, in 1971 to focus solely on writing poetry. He died shortly after arriving in Paris.
