Andrew Garfield

Background

Andrew Garfield was born in Los Angeles, California, and has an older brother, Ben Garfield, a doctor. His mother, Lynn Garfield, is British and worked at a nursery school, and his father, Richard Garfield, is American and worked in a swimming club.

He was usually picked on at school, and being a Spider-Man fan, he identified himself as Spider-Man’s alter ego, Peter Parker. He attended several schools, including Priory Preparatory School, City of London Freemen’s School, Central School of Speech and Drama, and the University of London, from which he graduated in 2004. His interest in acting developed after realizing he wasn’t so interested in studying business anymore. In 2005, he started his career as a professional actor and featured in “Sugar Rush,” a British series. Two years later, he plays his first major lead role in the film “Boy A.” as a troubled boy trying to start afresh after life in jail. He also appeared in “The Social Network,” playing the lead role, and later in the movie “The Amazing Spider-Man.” Being able to play numerous roles, he was cast as the lead actor in the historical film “Silence” in 2016. He received countless awards, including the BAFTA Award, Tony Award, and an A.A.C.T.A. Award for ‘Best Actor’ after his performance in “Hacksaw Ridge.” Along with these awards, he won countless Oscar nominations and the opportunity to perform with actors such as Sam Worthington, Campbell Scott, and the original Spider-Man, Tobey Maguire.

Garfield dated numerous ladies, including Emma Stone, with whom he co-starred in “The Amazing Spider-Man,” Christine Gabel, and his current girlfriend, Alyssa Miller.
