Misha Collins was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Richard Krushnic and Rebecca Tippens. Most of his childhood was spent with his mother and brother Sasha Krushnic, who was the provider in the family. He has two other siblings, Elizabeth and Danielle Collins.
Before his rise to fame, Collins got his B.A. in Social Theory from the University of Chicago and later worked as a carpenter in New England’s Berkshire Mountains. Over the years, he entered the film industry, appearing first as a guest star in the American science fiction T.V. show “Supernatural” before becoming a co-star in the film. Collins featured in several other T.V. programs, such as “Girl, Interrupted,” “Karla,” “E.R.,” and “C.S.I.” His acting skills got him massive attention and praise, but he later decided to venture into content creation on YouTube, where he uploads vlogs and food featuring his wife and kids. He has more than 13 million subscribers on his channel. He also founded a non-profit organization, Random Act, and created GISH, a global scavenger hunt saving endangered rainforests, supporting Syrian refugees, and assisting at-risk African youths. Collins has been featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine and is an activist who engages with his followers to help amplify social issues and motivate social good.
Collins has been married to Victoria Vantoch since 2001. They were high school sweethearts, and Vantoch is a writer and a sexuality historian. She’s the author of “The Jet Sex: Airline Stewardesses and the Making of an American Icon.” The couple has two children, West and Maison Collins.
