Misha Collins was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Richard Krushnic and Rebecca Tippens. Most of his childhood was spent with his mother and brother Sasha Krushnic, who was the provider in the family. He has two other siblings, Elizabeth and Danielle Collins.

Before his rise to fame, Collins got his B.A. in Social Theory from the University of Chicago and later worked as a carpenter in New England’s Berkshire Mountains. Over the years, he entered the film industry, appearing first as a guest star in the American science fiction T.V. show “Supernatural” before becoming a co-star in the film.
