Demi Lovato was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Patrick Martin Lovato and Dianna Lee Hart. Her father worked as an engineer and musician, and her mother was a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys, an American football team. She has two biological siblings, her younger sister Madison De La Garza and older sister Dallas Lovato. She also has a paternal half-sister, Amber Lovato.

Her acting career started in the children’s T.V. show “Barney and Friends,” where she met and became close friends with Selena Gomez. In 2006 she appeared in the T.V. series “Prison Break” as a guest and in “Just Jordan.” She auditioned for “Camp Rock” and “Sonny with a Chance” in 2007 and got selected for both of these shows. The release of her new album “Don’t Forget” reached 89,000 album copy sales in the first week of its release.
