Background

Bryan Ray Trout, famously known as Skeet Ulrich, was born on January 20, 1970, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Carolyn Elaine Wax and a restaurateur father. When he was six years old, his father kidnapped him and his brother, and they spent the next few years moving from Florida to New York and then, eventually, to Pennsylvania. After reuniting with his mother in North Carolina, he never saw his father again. His first stepfather was D.K. Ulrich, a N.A.S.C.A.R. driver he considered his real father. In the 90s, his mother married Edward Lewis Wax.

In school, his Little League coach nicknamed him “Skeet” because of his small frame, later inspiring his stage name, Skeet Ulrich. He had several health conditions as a child and even underwent open-heart surgery to repair a defective ventricle at 10 years old. He eventually graduated from the Northwest Cabarrus High School in North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington to study marine biology. He later transferred to New York University where he was discovered by famous playwright David Mamet.

His acting career took off in 1996 when he received his first notable film role as the boyfriend of Winona Ryder’s character in “Boys.” He also appeared in Kevin Spacey’s directorial debut, “Albino Alligator,” and “The Craft.” In the following years, he landed roles in various films, such as “The Newton Boys” (1998), “Ride with the Devil” (1999), and “Chill Factor” (1999). From 2017 to 2022, he played Forsythe Pendleton “F.P.” Jones in the “Riverdale” series inspired by the “Archie” comic book series.
