Tiffani Thiessen

Background

Tiffani Amber Thiessen was born on January 23, 1974, in Long Beach, California, to Robyn and Frank Thiessen. She has two siblings and spent her childhood in Long Beach. Thiessen attended Cubberley Elementary and Marshall Junior High. She later graduated as a valedictorian from Valley Professional High School in Los Angeles. When she was eight, she began acting and modeling at her uncle’s insistence, Roger Ernest, and was soon featured in her first T.V. commercial for Peaches and Cream Barbie. However, her appearance as Kelly Kapowski, a popular cheerleader, on N.B.C.’s “Saved by the Bell” in 1989 proved to be her big break. The show was a big hit, and Thiessen quickly rose to the status of an adolescent idol.

Thiessen landed the role of Valerie Malone on the long-running T.V. series “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1994. She portrayed the character for 136 episodes until 1998 when she left the show to pursue a film career. Thiessen appeared in films such as “The Stranger Beside Me” (1995), “Sweet Dreams” (1996), and “Cyborg Soldier” (2008). She featured In co-produced “Buried Secrets” (1996). She also appeared in television shows like “Cupid” (1999), “Just Shoot Me” (2001), “Fastlane” (2002-2003), “Good Morning Miami” (2003-2004), and “White Collar” (2009-2014). Thiessen took a shot at production in 2003, establishing her own production company, Tit 4 Tat Productions.

Thiessen appeared in Ben Lee’s music video for ‘American Television’ in 2008. She then rose to fame as a celebrity chef, hosting her culinary show, “Dinner at Tiffani’s,” on Cooking Channel T.V. She also maintains a website, where she provides domestic tips, cooking recipes, and D.I.Y. projects. While working as a chef, she starred in Netflix’s sitcom “Alexa and Katie,” which aired from 2018 to 2020. On July 9, 2005, Thiessen married actor and artist Brady Smith. The couple has two children.
