Background

The rapper-producer has a story filled with drama and controversy. Despite often being the center of celebrity gossip since his affiliation with the T.V. show “Love and Hip-Hop,” he tries as much as he can to keep his personal life as private as possible. Memphitz lost his dad at a young age to murder by the KKK. He opened up on the reality T.V. show, “Marriage Boot Camp,” about the trauma he experienced as a child. He recounted the graphic story of how his dad, a 46-year-old code enforcement officer, Mickey Wright Sr., was violently murdered. His body was dismembered before portions of his remains were scattered over various junkyard vehicles. The accused did not deny Mr. Wright’s murder and is serving a life sentence.

Memphitz tied the knot with Antonia Johnson, the former wife of rapper Lil Wayne. At the time, she was also known as Antonia “Toya” Wright, a star of the B.E.T. reality series “Toya: A Family Affair.” Their wedding guests included rapper Rasheeda, Kandi, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and Lauren London, among others. He also dated “Love and Hip Atlanta” cast member K. Michelle. K. who claims to have been abused by Memphitz. However, he has denied these allegations, stating that he and his family have suffered due to defamation. He filed a lawsuit against her and lost. To this day, there are still speculations about whether or not justice was served.

Not long after being accused of domestic abuse by Michelle, Memphitz lost his job as a successful hip-hop music executive. He has been using drugs to cope with his painful downward spiral. As he tells it, he’s had no chance to get his life and career back on track. He is currently separated from Toya and his daughter, as he claims to love them and wishes them the best.
