Actor Joseph Michael Manganiello was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a lovely home with his parents, Susan and Charles, and his younger brother Nicholas. Manganiello studied at St. Bernard School and Mt. Lebanon High School. In high school, Manganiello was the leader of three sports teams — basketball, volleyball, and football. Even in university, Manganiello kept being adept at sports.

When Manganiello graduated from high school, he applied to the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, but he didn’t get in. Then, he decided to attend the University of Pittsburgh. A year later, Manganiello tried again to get into Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, and this time, he was successful. Manganiello graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in acting. After graduating, Manganiello traveled to New York and Los Angeles, trying to start an acting career. He performed in several on-stage productions.

Manganiello made his debut on the big screen in 2002 in the movie “Spider-Man,” directed by Sam Raimi. After this movie, the actor landed several minor roles in different television series. He appeared in “C.S.I.,” “E.R.,” Scrubs,” and “Medium.” From 2006 to 2012, Manganiello had a recurring role in the series “How I Met Your Mother.” He made his breakthrough in 2010 with a recurring role in the H.B.O. horror drama series “True Blood.” Eventually, the recurring role became one of the main roles for the rest of the series.
