Born September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas, young Duff was always interested in the spotlight! Starting out, the young girl followed in her older sister’s footsteps by joining the Cecchetti Ballet. At just six years old, the talented young girl starred in the BalletMets production of “The Nutcracker Suite.” While she would continue to grow in the ballet industry over the next few years, Duff had always loved the entertainment industry. In 1998, when she was only 11 years old, she got her breakout movie debut in “Casper Meets Wendy” as “Wendy” Her next attempt in the spotlight was not as successful, and in 2000 she was unfortunately dropped from the pilot of “Daddio,” a new sitcom. She struggled with the failure and wanted to quit acting entirely after this, but through her mother’s reassurance and confidence, she continued on, and we sure are glad that she did!

Just one week after having been dismissed for the pilot of “Daddio,” she received a call that would change the young star’s life forever and Duff officially became Disney’s “Lizzie McGuire!” This was the role that would thrust the young actress into the spotlight, with millions of young people from all over the world falling in love with the “Lizzie Mcguire” show! From here on out, Duff made a name for herself in the Disney world with many other shows that she acted in. In 2004, she starred in one of her most famous movies to date “A Cinderella Story,” further cementing her career as a teen actress.

By 2005, the rising teen sensation was wanting to move away from tween movies. In 2005, her first adult-like role would see her star in “The Perfect Man.” After years of trying to reboot her career and focus more on adult characters, the young star took a bit of a break to focus on her personal life. In 2010, she married her boyfriend Mike Comrie, and they had their son Luca Cruz Comrie in 2012. Sadly, the couple divorced in 2016.
