Born September 28, 1987, in Houston, Texas, young Duff was always interested in the spotlight! Starting out, the young girl followed in her older sister’s footsteps by joining the Cecchetti Ballet. At just six years old, the talented young girl starred in the BalletMets production of “The Nutcracker Suite.” While she would continue to grow in the ballet industry over the next few years, Duff had always loved the entertainment industry. In 1998, when she was only 11 years old, she got her breakout movie debut in “Casper Meets Wendy” as “Wendy” Her next attempt in the spotlight was not as successful, and in 2000 she was unfortunately dropped from the pilot of “Daddio,” a new sitcom. She struggled with the failure and wanted to quit acting entirely after this, but through her mother’s reassurance and confidence, she continued on, and we sure are glad that she did!
Just one week after having been dismissed for the pilot of “Daddio,” she received a call that would change the young star’s life forever and Duff officially became Disney’s “Lizzie McGuire!” This was the role that would thrust the young actress into the spotlight, with millions of young people from all over the world falling in love with the “Lizzie Mcguire” show!
