Bert Kreischer, or The Machine as he is popularly known, was born in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is a prominent American stand-up comic with a reputation as a wild party man. His parents are Al and Gege Kreischer. Raised in Tampa, the comedian went to Florida State University where he majored in English.
In 1996, the university was named number one in “The Princeton Review’s” annual list of “Top Party Schools” around the U.S. Kreischer was named the “Top Partier” by “Rolling Stone” magazine in the same year. Kreischer began performing stand-up comedy in a bar and nightclub in Tallahassee, Florida. A tape of one of his performances was sent to a talent agent in New York, who called him to watch and learn from professional stand-up shows. In the 2004 release of “National Lampoon Live: New Faces – Volume 2,” Kreischer was featured along with four other comedians. He performed internationally and appeared on late-night talk shows such as “Late Show with David Letterman,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and “Conan.” He was also a regular guest star on “Racheal Ray” (2011-2015). Kreischer was the face of “Hurt Bert” in 2004; it was an FX show where he did dangerous stunts. The comedian hosted his first special “Bert Kreischer: Comfortably Dumb” in 2009, with a second special in 2016. In 2018 and 2020, he was the face of two Netflix comedy shows titled “Bert Kreischer: Secret Time” and “Bert Kreischer: Hey Big Boy.” He also has a podcast called “Bertcast,” which was launched in 2012. Kreischer published a book in 2014, called “Life of the Party: Stories of a Perpetual Man-Child,” which spoke of his professional journey as a stand-up comedian.
