Jordyn Woods

Background

Jordyn Woods was born on September 23, 1997, in Los Angeles, California, to John and Elizabeth Woods. She has two brothers, John Jr. and Joshua, and a sister, Jodie. Woods’ father worked on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” which is why she considers Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith as her uncle and aunt.

In 2015, after an agent from Wilhelmina, a talent and modeling agency, saw her on Instagram, she was asked if she wanted to model. From 2016 until 2019, Woods modeled for Khloé Kardashian’s apparel line, Good American. She participated in her debut New York Fashion Week presentation in 2017. Woods appears in every episode of the 2017 reality show “Life of Kylie,” as well as a few episodes of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” In 2019 she appeared in the September issue of “Cosmopolitan UK.” She debuted her size-inclusive activewear collection, Secndnture, in August 2018. Kylie Cosmetics debuted the Kylie x Jordyn line, a collaboration between the two friends, in September 2018.

In 2019, Woods turned to acting, appearing as Dee in an episode of “Grown-ish.” She later starred as Vanessa Mass in the BET+ film “Sacrifice” and then as Vanessa Mass in the 2020 BET+ film “Trigger.” Her social media fame skyrocketed when she began addressing body confidence and self-acceptance. She became an encouragement to many when she declared her desire to change the perception of the plus-size market. Plus-size models, she believes, should be treated the same as any other model. She subsequently became the global spokeswoman for Lovesick, a new clothing brand focused on offering contemporary attire for plus-size women. Woods worked with PrettyLittleThing, a fashion retailer in the U.K. to create the Quarantine Collection in October 2020.
