Chanel West Coast was born in Los Angeles, California on September 1, 1988. Her parents were divorced when she was young and she spent her childhood traveling between Los Angeles where her mother lived, and New York where her father worked as a D.J. As a result, Chanel West Coast was exposed to music from a very young age and this kindled her love for the art. She took singing and dancing lessons and began rapping at age 14. Chanel West Coast’s career took off when she met Rob Dyrdek through mutual friends in 2008. Later that same year, she appeared on Dyrdek’s “Fantasy Factory,” kicking off her career in reality television.

Chanel West Coast’s bubbly personality was a big hit with fans, and, in 2011, she became Dyrdek’s co-host on “Ridiculousness.” She co-hosted the show for a total of 24 seasons over 11 years. “Ridiculousness” was her ticket into Hollywood, and in 2013, she was able to meet Lil Wayne and signed with his Young Money record label.
