Background

Ashton Kutcher is a well-revered name within and outside Hollywood. His affiliations, investments, and success have made him one of the most respected figures in the entertainment industry. However, the road which looks straight now wasn’t always leveled. Christopher Ashton Kutcher was born on February 7, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Larry M. Kutcher and Diane Finnegan. His father was a factory worker, while his mother worked at Procter & Gamble. Kutcher is an Aquarius of Czech, German and Irish heritage. He was raised in a conservative Catholic family, and his parents split up when he turned 16. Kutcher’s passion for acting developed at Clear Creek-Amana High School, and he took part in school plays. After high school, Kutcher got admitted into Biochemical Engineering at the University of Iowa. However, he soon dropped out of college following a modeling stint.

In 1998, Kutcher entered the “Fresh Faces of Iowa” modeling competition and achieved first place. He won a trip to the International Modeling and Talent Association in New York and moved to the Big Apple. Shortly after modeling in Paris, and Milan, and appearing in Calvin Klein commercials, Kutcher moved to Los Angeles. He booked a role on “That ‘70s Show” as ‘Michael Kelso.’ The stint lasted eight years. In 2000, he starred in “Dude, Where’s My Car,” and by 2003, he had appeared in “Just Married,” “Cheaper By The Dozen,” and even starred in his series “Punk’d,” on M.T.V. By this time, Kutcher’s career had taken off. He starred in the box office success, “The Butterfly Effect” (2004), as well as “Guess Who” (2005), and “Killers” (2010), which he produced.

Kutcher’s hard work paid off, and in May 2011, he was announced as Charlie Sheen’s replacement on the hit series “Two and a Half Men.” His yearly contract for this show was about $20 million, and by February 2015, the show’s finale aired. Kutcher starred in more shows and movies before breaking into venture capital. The movie star has invested in multiple startups, co-founded investment companies, and worked for Lenovo as a product engineer. Kutcher shares his many successes with his wife, Mila Kunis, and their two children. The pair got hitched in 2015, years after Kutcher’s divorce from Demi Moore in 2012.
