Background

Amanda Ashlee Mertz was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Sandee Mertz Hutchison and Joseph Kelly “Jody” Mertz Sr. Her father passed away on January 30, 2012. Mertz’s mother works in an accounting office. She grew up with her siblings, Chasity Mertz Hobbs and Joseph Kelly Mertz Jr., and also attended Louisville’s Assumption High School. Mertz entered nursing school after high school and earned a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Louisville. She competed in numerous beauty pageants, including The Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant in 2010 and The Hooters Snow Angels: Aspen in 2011. She was a Monster Energy Girl as well. However, this was just the beginning. Her meteoric climb to fame began in 2012 when she was crowned Miss Kentucky. Mertz has become well-known thanks to her modeling and T.V. personality work.

In the same year, “Maxim” magazine’s cover also featured Mertz. The model and T.V. host also collaborated with well-known brands, including Revolve, Woodchuck Cider, Ooh La Luxe, and Lulus. Following winning Miss Kentucky 2012, she had the opportunity to compete in Miss U.S.A. 2012, which Olivia Culpo ultimately won. After moving to Nashville in 2013, she joined A.S.C.A.P. and became a licensing manager, ensuring that artists like composers receive their royalties. Mertz also served as a correspondent for Got Country Online in 2014, conducting interviews with artists who perform country music, such as Frankie Ball and Sam Hunt. In 2015, she served as Miss Coors Light’s spokesperson for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). She had auditioned for the role a year previously and was the second Miss Coors Light after Rachel Peyton had taken over. Due to alterations in funds, the program ended in December 2015. Fortunately for her, Mertz had done such a fantastic job and had sufficient connections that it didn’t take long for her to find new work.

Additionally, Mertz was a former host of “Rated Red,” a news and lifestyle digital video program covering various topics, including camping, hunting, outdoor life, and the military. In January 2020, she and her friend Harmony Joy debuted their clothing line, Activ8 Wear. In terms of her personal life, Mertz previously dated Dustin Lynch, an American pop-country singer, and songwriter. For the time being, she is dating army veteran and reality T.V. star Luke Pell. The two met in 2017 through mutual friends who planned a blind date. They started dating immediately and clicked, but they didn’t come out to the public until 2018. The couple uploaded their engagement photos to Instagram, posted on July 8, 2022, while on vacation in Rome, Italy.
