National Fragile X Awareness Day

National Fragile X Awareness Day is observed on July 22 every year. The objective of the day is to raise awareness about Fragile X syndrome (F.X.S.). F.X.S. is the “most common inherited cause of autism and intellectual disabilities worldwide.” It has no cure at present. This genetic disorder occurs when a single gene on the X chromosome ceases to function, shutting down completely. This gene, in particular, is needed to synthesize a protein responsible for brain development. A lack of this protein, as found in F.X.S., leads to developmental issues.

International WaterFall Day

International Waterfall Day is celebrated every year on June 16 to celebrate these magnificent and scenic beauties. Waterfalls are found all around the world and are incredibly important to the local communities living around them. The cascade of water is not just a wonder for the eyes but they also have a majestic quality to them that’s indescribable. Imagine trekking for miles, drenched in sweat and beaten down by the sun, only to finally walk through a clearing and look up at the sky to see what looks like water pouring from the heavens.

Russia Day

Russia Day is a national holiday in Russia observed every year on June 12. When Russia Day falls on a weekend, a weekday holiday is typically announced in its place. When a holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, it is common to announce an additional holiday on Monday or Friday. The day was originally called Russia Independence Day, and it commemorates the disintegration of the Soviet Union and the legitimate approval of the Declaration of State Sovereignty. Surprisingly, many Russians first misunderstood the significance of the occasion. However, many of them have come to see Russian Independence Day as a symbol of the country’s modernization.
