World Wish Day

World Wish Day is celebrated every April 29 each year. This national holiday is sponsored by the “Make-A-Wish Foundation” — an organization that focuses on making the wishes of terminally ill children come true. It is a holiday that even children take joy in celebrating — as it primarily has to do with them. Although not all wishes that are made are or can be granted, you will be surprised to know that more than half a million wishes have been granted by the foundation since its inception a few decades ago, and many more would be granted in the years to come.

Workers Memorial Day

Workers’ Memorial Day is an international holiday marked on April 28 annually. It is observed to raise awareness of the importance of workplace safety, as well as commemorate all the workers who have lost their lives due to work-related illnesses and those whose lives have been put on hold due to injuries that have incurred while working. According to figures, the number of people who get killed at work is higher than those who lose their lives to wars and drug abuse combined! Labor unions around the world observe this day to remember their fallen heroes and discuss measures to ensure safe workplaces.

National Cubicle Day

National Cubicle Day is a holiday marked on April 28 every year to appreciate and admire the introduction of a 20th-century innovation, which has changed the looks of many workplaces today. Physical distractions would have still been impediments to workplace productivity if one Mr. Robert Propst hadn’t rummaged through his mind and came up with a savior — the cubicle! This is an enclosed workspace partitioned to offer office workers individual and private spaces, in such ways that they have the tranquillity to work even more effectively.
