Ambedkar Jayanti

Ambedkar Jayanthi is celebrated annually on April 14 in India. The celebration pays tribute to the life of the renowned polymath, jurist, economist, and civil rights activist — Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. He is fondly known as the “Father of the Indian Constitution,” and was instrumental in shaping the democratic structure of India. He was dedicated to educating the oppressed, improving their economic standing, and raising issues concerning economic and social discrimination against untouchables. Every year on April 14, his birthday is commemorated as Ambedkar Jayanti. Across the country, the day is also observed as Equality Day.
