Park Hyung-sik

Background

Park Hyung-Sik was born in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. He had a great childhood as he belonged to a well-off family. His father is a member of the board of directors at B.M.W. Korea, while his mother is a piano teacher. There’s an interesting history behind his name because he was named by a Buddhist monk, as his mother and grandmother are Buddhists.

Hyung-Sik entered the South Korean entertainment industry as a member of the South Korean boy band ZE:A in 2010. A couple of years later, in 2012, he debuted as an actor in the S.B.S. drama “I Remember You,” and also starred in S.B.S.’s “Dummy Mommy” as an indie band member. In 2013, he starred in a K.B.S.2. drama “Sirius” and in the same year, he played Ji Yong in his second musical theater performance, “Gwanghwamun Love Song.”

His fame skyrocketed once he joined the South Korean variety show “Real Man” in 2013. He also appeared as Clyde in the same year, in his third musical theater piece, “Bonnie & Clyde,” followed by a role in the blockbuster dramedy “The Heirs.” His first lead role came with J.T.B.C.’s “Strong Girl Bong-Soon.” In 2017, he was paired with Han Jimin in the film, “Two Rays of Light.” His debut film, “Juror,” won him the Best New Actor. He started his mandatory military service in 2019 and was discharged in 2021. This time away did not slow him down, as he made a comeback with the television series “Happiness.”
