Background

Jonathan David Good, better known as Jon Moxley, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 7, 1985, into an impoverished family. Since his father worked far away and was rarely at home, he was raised by his mother. Wrestling became his passion right from an early age, and he would spend hours watching wrestling tapes. Moxley began taking wrestling training while he was still in high school but eventually dropped out to pursue his dream.

He began his professional wrestling career with the H.W.A. in 2004. Despite losing his debut bout to Ala Hussein, he went on to win two Tag Team championships the following year. In 2006, he was crowned H.W.A. Heavyweight Champion and later went on to win it twice, along with several other awards.

During his stint with H.W.A., Moxley also participated in other promotions, including Ring of Honor, International Wrestling Association, Dragon Gate U.S.A., Combat Zone Wrestling, and Full Impact Pro. He piled up a handful of titles and won the majority of his fights. In April 2011, he joined the W.W.E. and made a winning debut in July. Due to his winning streak, he was able to create a reputation for himself and emerged as one of the most bankable performers in the W.W.E.

In 2011, he signed with W.W.E., the world’s largest pro-wrestling promotion, under the ring name, “Dean Ambrose.” Until 2012, he competed under their developmental brands F.C.W. and N.X.T. Subsequently, he went on to win the United States Championships and held the championship for 351 days, which is the longest in W.W.E. history.
