Joanna Gaines — a well-known name when it comes to interior design — became famous after hosting a reality show with her husband for five years. She also owns Boo and Runs, her own furniture and decor store. Gaines was born on April 19, 1978, in Wichita, Kansas. Her zodiac sign is Aries, and her ethnicity is Lebanese-German and Korean. She is the daughter of Jerry and Nan Stevens. Gaines moved to Austin, Texas when she was a teenager, and finished her graduation there.

Gaines interned with “C.B.S. News” after finishing college but soon left the job and moved back to Texas, where she worked in her father’s Fireside tire shop. Although her father had wanted her to take over the store once he retired, Gaines always entertained the possibility of owning a business. After getting married to Chip Gaines, she opened the Magnolia Market in 2003, which dealt with interior design and decor. Gaines briefly closed shop in between but restarted it in 2014. When Magnolia Market closed, they began focussing on the construction site of the business. While her husband did the building and fixing, Gaines contributed with ideas on interior design. She also began blogging and sharing her designs via blogs. Before long, an executive from “H.G.T.V.” contacted them, and Gaines and her husband started “Fixer Upper” (2013 to 2018), where they showed potential buyers damaged houses and fixed the one that was chosen. The show became the number-one reality show on American television. Gaines and her husband ended the show after a successful five-year run, to focus on their family, but a reboot, “Fixer Upper: Welcome Home,” was aired on Discovery+ in 2021.

Gaines and her husband Chip studied at the same university, but only met when he came to her father’s tire store while she worked there. They have five children together and have been married for close to 19 years. The Gaines still own the Magnolia Market and have opened several other businesses, such as a bakery. Gaines also hosts a T.V. program, “Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines.” It airs on the Magnolia cable network which launched in 2020. Gaines has also published seven books on different topics since 2016, with an eighth one coming in 2023.
