Gino Cosculluela

Background

Gino Emilio Cosculluela was born in Miami, Florida, to parents Mickey Cosculluela and Barbara Anton Suarez. He has two brothers, Evan and Kevin, and a sister, Angela. From an early age, Cosculluela showed a talent for dance and used to tag along with his sister to her dance classes. At the age of five, he began to train under John Culbertson and Cookie Ramos from “Dance Attack Miami.”

Beginning his career as a dancer at the Dance Attack studios, he was propelled to the national stage when he appeared on the talent reality show “America’s Got Talent” in 2012, with his brother and sister as part of the dance trio, The Cos Fam, but they were eliminated before the live shows. His career breakthrough came in 2013 when he became a part of another reality show, “Dance Moms,” as a recurring dancer in the show’s third season, where he was partnered with Maggie Ziegler. In 2017, Cosculluela choreographed a dance video for the single ‘Escalate’ by Tsar B. He has been teaching at dance workshops since 2018. In 2019, he participated in Season 16 of the reality television show, “So You Think You Can Dance” (S.Y.T.Y.C.D.), finishing in third place. In 2021, he appeared in two episodes of the Marvel television series, “Hawkeye.” In 2022, he began to appear in the Broadway show, “The Music Man,” alongside Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster, for which he was nominated for the ‘Favorite Featured Actor in a Musical’ at the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards. The same year, he also appeared in the Netflix movie, “Senior Year.”

Cosculluela, known for his contemporary style of dancing, is well-versed in different forms and genres and also teaches students around the U.S. in his classes that bring together ballet with hip-hop and other styles. He has become an inspiration for many aspiring dancers, making his rise to the top with effort, confidence, and style, which have become his signature. He currently lives in Miami with his dog, Biggie, and is looking to expand his career by turning to acting.
