Cynthia Ann Crawford, better known as Cindy Crawford, is an American supermodel whose talents on and off the runway set her apart from the others. She’s a Pisces, born on February 20, 1966, in DeKalb, Illinois. Her mother is Jennifer Sue, and her father is Dan Crawford. Crawford grew up with three siblings, and she is of German, English, and French descent. She was in her junior year of high school when she first began modeling. Crawford initially worked with a small modeling agency that was sold to Elite Model Management. By 1983, she entered the Elite’s Look of the Year contest and made the finals. She graduated from DeKalb High School in 1984 and gained a scholarship at Northwestern University, which she attended for one semester before dropping out to pursue modeling.

In 1987, Crawford was seen in the opening credits of “The Secret of My Success,” the Michael J. Fox film. From 1989 to 1995, she hosted and executive produced “House of Style” by M.T.V. In January 1990, Crawford appeared alongside Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, and Tatjana Patitz on the cover of “British Vogue.” She then appeared on more magazine covers like “Vogue,” “W,” “Harper’s Bazaar,” “People,” “Allure,” “Cosmopolitan,” and “Elle.” By 1998, she had made over 500 magazine appearances. Crawford’s career as a runway model has also been extensive as she’s walked for a myriad of designers. Some of these designers include Chanel, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Michael Kors, Christian Dior, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Calvin Klein, etc. In terms of fashion campaigns and ads, Crawford has done several of them for Escada, Oscar De La Renta, Balmain, Versace, Calvin Klein, Hermes, Pepsi, Maybelline, etc. By 1995, Crawford starred as the lead in “Fair Game,” and in 2000, she quit modeling full-time. She was only seen in fashion magazines after this. In 2005, she created and launched a line of beauty products called Meaningful Beauty with Jean-Louis Sebagh for the company Guthy-Renker. In the same year, she launched the Cindy Crawford Home Collection, a furniture line.
