Aaron Tveit was born in Middletown, Orange County, New York, to Posie and Stanley Tveit. His younger brother, Jon, is a priest and five years his junior. In 2001, Tveit graduated from Middletown High School. While in his first year at Ithaca College, he played Steve in the national tour of the musical “Rent.” Afterward, he briefly returned to school before leaving again in 2006. He then went on to make his Broadway debut as Link Larkin for the national tour of “Hairspray.” In 2017, Tveit landed his first film role when he got to play a young anesthesiologist in the movie “Ghost Town” (2008).

Tveit played Frank Abagnale, Jr., the protagonist in the Broadway production of “Catch Me If You Can,” which debuted on April 10, 2011. His performance garnered critical acclaim and was nominated for several awards, including the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance. Beyond theater, Tveit also guest-starred in several television shows. He appeared severally on the C.W. television series “Gossip Girl” as Tripp van der Bilt and appeared in “Ugly Betty” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
