Amber Rose

Background

Amber Rose is a chameleon of talent who is recognized globally. Her tough-girl attitude and unapologetic stance have garnered her fans all over. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rose is the daughter of Dorothy Rose and Michael Levonchuck. She is of Irish, Italian, and Scottish descent, among other origins. This Libra has one brother. While her life wasn’t all roses growing up, Amber managed to pull through. She started to become noticed, though, when she was featured in the music video, “Put On,” by Young Jeezy and Kanye West (2008). From there, it was an uphill ride for the young vixen. Rose went on to feature in the music videos of some of Hip-Hop’s biggest names, including Nicki Minaj (2010), Fabolous, Ludacris, and Future.

In 2009, Rose was recruited by a modeling agency, Ford Models. This was only the tip of the iceberg, however, as she was soon seen pursuing several passions. She’s made an appearance on notable shows, including RuPaul’s Drag Race (2011), on which she was a judge. As she continued leaving her imprint on the modeling world, Rose also released various singles, ‘Fame’, which featured Wiz Khalifa, and ‘Loaded’ (2012). 2012 proved to be a busy year for the model as well, and she then launched a clothing line, Rose & Ono.

As if taking on the world of modeling, music, and business wasn’t enough, Rose ventured into writing and authored her first book, “How to Be a Bad Bitch”. Rose isn’t just about the fame though, as the model also tackled some heavy topics, such as sexual harassment and abuse. Her 2015 slutwalk took place in L.A. and was an opportunity to raise awareness about women being valued and judged, based on their sexual conduct. Rose has dated several public figures, including Kanye West (2008 – 2010). After dating Wiz Khalifa for two years, the couple tied the knot in 2013 and welcomed their son that same year. They divorced shortly thereafter. Rose was then linked to Alexander Edwards, a Def Jam executive, with whom she has one son.
