Background
Markies Deandre Conway, Yella Beezy, is a rapper from Dallas who is quickly rising through the ranks of stardom in the rap world. While he’s had his lows, Conway hasn’t let the bad slow him down. Born October 21, 1991, Conway lost his father at age 12, when he was murdered on Mother’s Day. The young man found solace on the basketball court and the football field throughout his childhood, before becoming part of the Crips.
Conway didn’t let that define him, however. He’d shown a passion for rap from the young age of 13, with his inspirations being Boosie Badazz and Kevin Gates. After releasing his first mixtape, “Mash Mode Overload” at 14, Conway released his first hit single in 2015. Dubbed ‘Trap in Designer,’ the song was only the beginning of a bright future. ‘That’s On Me’ (2017) was the single that put him on the map, making it to 56 on the Billboard Hot 100.
What followed was a rollercoaster of opportunities, with Conway getting signed to the American label Hitco (2017). 2018 was a busy year for the rapper, who opened for Beyonce and Jay-Z, and released several hits, including ‘What I Did,’ and a remix of ‘That’s On Me,’ featuring 2 Chainz and T.I. Conway’s personal life isn’t as bright as his life in front of the camera. He’s been arrested several times. In 2018, he was also shot and ended up in hospital.
