Aaron Charles Rodgers was born in Chico, California. Rodgers was a quick scholar, and at the age of five, he could toss a football through a suspended tire. Rodgers attended a variety of schools, including Vose Elementary High School and Pleasant Valley High School. He achieved numerous school records as a gifted player. He was awarded a University of California athletic scholarship where he spent a year with the California Golden Bears. He was a valuable member of the team, leading it to multiple triumphs.

The Green Bay Packers, based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, selected Rodgers in the N.F.L. Draft in 2005. He aspired to be selected by the San Francisco 49ers, but Alex Smith was chosen ahead of him by the team. He signed a five-year contract with the Packers in August 2005, worth $7.7 million. Despite his exceptional abilities, his rookie season saw very little of him. Rodgers was designated the starting quarterback for the 2008 season after Brett Favre retired in 2008.
