Geek Pride Day

Geek Pride Day is celebrated on May 25 every year. This international holiday promotes the culture, hobbies, and interests of geeks worldwide. Once a niche movement, geek culture has gone mainstream, thanks to its contribution to popular culture. In recent years, the world has seen increased media based on comic books, novels, role-playing games, tabletop games, video games, and even trading card games. Obscure things like cosplaying are now part of everyday life. These things were seen as childish and sometimes downright shameful in the past, but not anymore.

World Laboratory Day

Break out the beakers (and other science-y stuff) to celebrate World Laboratory Day this April 4. Observed to celebrate labs in all their glorious forms — from industrial labs. to government and military-led labs. to ones inside educational institutions, and even spacecraft — World Laboratory Day highlights how these controlled spaces have benefited mankind since times immemorial. That, and the fact that lab workers, researchers, and many others are also honored on this day, makes this event special.

Look Alike Day

National Look Alike Day on April 20 honors those who have a striking resemblance to another person. There is someone — or maybe two — out there who looks just like you. Give them the same haircut, and they might take your place at the dinner table without raising any alarm. Your doppelganger might not be famous, but sharing similar features with someone is still worth celebrating. National Look Alike Day is an opportunity to learn what other people who look like you are doing with their lives. Connect with them and scare your family and friends with the revelation.
