National Girls and Women in Sports Day

National Girls and Women in Sports Day, abbreviated as N.G.W.S.D., is observed on February 4 this year and it is all about breaking the gender stereotypes built around the sports industry. Have you ever felt sidelined from some kind of a sport due to the fact that you are a girl? N.G.W.S.D. is all about the narrative that women belong in every aspect of sports. Keep supporting, celebrating, and inspiring others by being fearless and playing like a girl, because what better way is there to play?

International Fun at Work Day

International Fun at Work Day on April 1 is one of our favorite holidays at National Today because what other day are we going to get the chance to party and work at the same time? While we are firm believers in loving what we do and doing what we love, we acknowledge the fact that the repetitive daily grind of the same type of work — even the work we are passionate about — can get extremely boring. This type of monotony can lead to frequent burnouts, which is not at all healthy, both mentally and physically. International Fun at Work Day ensures work colleagues have the added element of fun as they go about their daily tasks. Apparently, fun days go hand-in-hand because International Fun at Work Day coincides with April Fools.

Manatee Appreciation Day

We celebrate Manatee Appreciation Day on the last Wednesday of March, on March 25 this year, to raise awareness for the endangered sea cows who are quickly falling victim to pollution, global warming, and hunting. Did you know manatees weigh as much as 1,200 pounds but survive on seagrass alone? And that they have no natural enemy except humans? This day is celebrated to appreciate, learn more about, and protect the bloated bean-bag look-alikes from deadly human activities.
