Comic Con – July 21, 2025

Comic-Con takes place from July 21 to 24 this year. Comic-Con is celebrated annually following the date given by the responsible bodies in July. This makes it a great four-day summer extravaganza. In 2021 the event was held virtually. Comic-Cons are held all over, but the main event that people think of is the San Diego Comic-Con, the most well-known one of its kind. Comic-Con not only has comics but also has other related pop culture entertainment forms such as gaming, movies, and T.V. shows. Surprisingly, the San Diego Comic-Con is a non-profit event.

History of Comic Con

Comic books have played a very important role in the development of movies, books, culture, and arts as we see them today. An integral and yet distinct part of the pop arts, comic books are replete with gripping bright pictures and colors – and actions. There are superheroes, villains, funny characters, and generally great stories that are brought to life all through the pages of the comic book. These books shaped and predicted the initial journey into the realm of superheroes and action characters. Many of the movies we watch today, including Spider-Man, Batman, and several others, all started as Comic books.

Comic-Convention started in San Diego in 1970 with a group of comic book lovers. In the beginning, it was called the Golden State Comic Book Convention. It later changed to the San Diego Comic Book Convention. The event was created out of the desire of the founding members to meet, socialize, discuss, and enjoy comic books, which they loved, with like-minded individuals. Over the years, the increased patronage and attendance have made the event a worldwide holiday. Almost every state in the U.S. now has and observes its own Comic-Conventions, which turn out fun-packed and filled to capacity.

Comic-Con now not only enjoys comic books and characters, but encompasses the spectrum of pop culture — animation, fantasy, horror, video games, and more. Over 100,000 people flock to the San Diego Convention center every year to enjoy the event and partake in the fun-filled festivity. In the past few years, records were broken and recorded in the Guinness World Book of Records as 130,000 people attended.
