Sadie Sink was born on April 16, 2002, to a middle-class family in Brenham, Texas. Casey Adam Sink, her father, is a rugby coach. Her mother Lori Elizabeth Sink, is a mathematics teacher. Sink is the third of four siblings. She has three elder brothers, Spencer, Caleb, and Mitchell, and a younger sister, Jacey. Sink attended Frederick Wilson Benteen Elementary School, Atlanta, Georgia. She discovered her talent for acting while she was young, and at seven, she became obsessed with recreating “High School Musical,” so her mother allowed her to join a theater in Houston. This led her to a Broadway audition and eventually a starring role in “Annie.” The experience proved to be highly rewarding.

Shortly after, the family moved to New Jersey. Sink started training in dance and vocals to improve her performance at musicals and Broadway shows. In 2013, she made her first on-screen appearance in the series “The Americans.” Soon after, she was cast to play in another series “Blue Bloods.” In 2015, she played the role of Suzanne Ballard in the series “American Odyssey.” Two years later, she played the role of one of the main characters in “Stranger Things,” a role that catapulted her to fame. For this role, she had to take skateboarding classes.
