Born on January 22, 1990, in Rockville, Maryland to Robert Bryson Hall, Logic spent most of his childhood in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He had a tough time as a child, with both of his parents struggling with substance abuse. He regularly wound up in illegal activities until he finally decided that he wouldn’t want to end up like his parents, so he chose to take up rapping. He moved to Los Angeles in 2013. After releasing a few mixtapes, he saw modest success. But he achieved true popularity with the release of “Everybody” in 2017, the album that charted as number one in the United States and was certified platinum. Later, he released the commercial mixtape series called “Bobby Tarantino.” His other albums received great commercial success as well.
Logic states that Frank Sinatra has been his biggest musical influence. His mother made him watch old black-and-white movies as a child, which developed his love for the singer. Apart from music, the singer’s influence can be seen in several aspects of Logic’s personality too. Logic performed under the stage name “Psychological” in 2009. He described the name as one that really stuck with him. He loved the word because it was about the mind and he knew that’s exactly what he wanted his music to consist of — something that challenges the mind. Soon after, he shortened ‘Psychological’ to ‘Logic.’
Logic married his singer girlfriend Jessica Andrea on October 22, 2015, after dating for two years. He announced their separation in March 2018. They remain friends to date. In September 2019, Logic married Brittney Noell and they had one son. Logic authored the novel “Supermarket” which was released in 2019. It went on to become a “New York Times” Best Seller, although it received mixed to negative reviews. Logic retired for a year after his sixth album in 2020, rejoining the music industry in 2021.
