Background
Wong Yuk-Hei was born in Sha Tin, Hong Kong, on January 25, 1999, to Chinese and Thai parents. He is a model, rapper, and performer better recognized by his onstage name Lucas Wong or Lucas. He was raised in Hong Kong with his younger brother and attended Yow Kam Yuen College, which is operated by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. Wong is stunning, but beyond his flawless façade is a dedicated man with a golden heart. The K-pop sensation has found success in many boy bands. He is a member of both the South Korean boy band NCT and the Chinese boy band WayV. He is a popular participant on prominent reality shows and appears to value his good ties with new pals.
Wong was spotted and scouted at an early age by the Korean entertainment agency SM Entertainment, which is the largest in South Korea. He was invited to a Hong Kong-based modeling audition and was successful, making him one of the rare talents to have achieved success following only one modeling audition. Consequently, he relocated to South Korea and started training to become a future talent, improving his abilities in dance, rap, and music, as well as learning numerous languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, and Korean. For the following two years, he was mostly shrouded in secrecy until he was unveiled as a member of the SM Rookies squad by his company. Wong made an appearance beside Jungwoo and began to be marketed by the group. Following Wong’s cameo appearance in NCT’s music video “Dream in a Dream,” he was introduced as a part of a special project from SM Entertainment, a new version of NCT dubbed NCT 2018, which includes him as one of three newcomers, among other newcomers. He made his first appearance in 2018 with the studio album “NCT 2018 Empathy,” after the launch of the new trio. He mostly performed as a member of the NCT U unit, with whom he recorded three songs for the album.
Wong was also a significant performer in “Law of the Jungle,” a documentary series that accompanied South Korean boy band musicians as they journeyed throughout the world. Upon his debut there, he teamed with Taeyeon on the EP “Something New,” and made a cameo in the song ‘All Night Long,’ which gained him some attention as a solo artist. He also collaborated with Richard Bona on a track called ‘Coffee Break.’ He was therefore introduced as a member of NCT’s new China-based subsidiary, WayV, later that year. The sub-unit has seven members and is the fourth subunit to branch off from the main one. Next year, the band issued their first EP, “The Vision,” that included a Mandarin rendition of the NCT 127 track ‘Regular.’ One of Wong’s most recent attempts is joining the K-pop ensemble SuperM, which features members from SM boy bands such as Exo, Shinee, NCT 127, and WayV. Later in the year, the band issued a self-titled EP.
